FOR A SAFE AND RELIABLE ENERGY SUPPLY
At the end of 2017, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in the SKOLKOVO Foundation acquired rods with a diameter of 30 mm from the LLC Innovation Center “Plastmass Group”. These were delivered in three different modifications types from our PLASTMASS™ material series. In addition, rods with a diameter of 20 mm from the PLASTMASS™ material series were tested on packaging containers. The transport and packaging containers were carved out of the bars. The materials have been tested and have successfully passed the different radiation modes. The PLASTMASS™ plastics were therefore approved for use as materials in neutron diffraction.
A promising direction for the use of anti-friction composites of our production in the processing of uranium ores.
During processing uranium with uranium hexafluoride, the fluoropolymers seals with limited lifespan and poor
physical properties are exposed to long-term ionizing radiation.
We are considering testing our radiation-resistant high-performance plastics as seals for flange connections of containers with uranium hexafluoride under permanent ionizing radiation. The use of our materials increases the lifespan of parts under radioactive conditions without significantly affecting the physical and mechanical properties.
